Strong momentum as 100th patient enrolled ahead of schedule in US DETECT study
- Epiminder has enrolled the 100th participant in DETECT, its prospective, randomised, controlled, blinded, multi-centre US study of the Minder® System, bringing the study to nearly half of its planned enrolment of up to 210 participants.
- The milestone was achieved ahead of the Company's November target, and reflects strong enrolment momentum across 22 world-class epilepsy centres in the United States.
- Epiminder anticipates reaching 125 patients enrolled by December 2026 and remains on track to meet its target of enrolling 210 patients by the end of 1H CY2027.
- DETECT is designed to generate high-quality evidence on how continuous EEG monitoring can improve clinical decision-making for patients with epilepsy whose prolonged EEG monitoring has been inconclusive.
Melbourne, Australia & Dallas, United States – October 15, 2026 – Epiminder Limited (ASX: EPI), a pioneer medical device company developing breakthrough epilepsy monitoring technology, today announced that the 100th participant has been enrolled in DETECT, the Company's US clinical study evaluating the Minder System in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy.
DETECT (Diagnosing Epilepsy To EffeCT change) is evaluating whether continuous subscalp EEG monitoring with the Minder System improves clinical decision-making for patients who have already undergone prolonged EEG monitoring without reaching a conclusive result. For these patients, conventional monitoring captures only a short window of brain activity, and many cycle through repeat assessments without a confirmed diagnosis or a clear treatment pathway. DETECT is designed to enrol up to 210 participants across up to 25 US sites, with a six-month primary follow-up period.
Reaching 100 participants is an important step toward completing enrolment in DETECT, which is designed to generate the clinical evidence that US clinicians and health systems need to support adoption of the Minder System. With 100 participants now enrolled across 22 actively enrolling centres, the Company expects to reach 125 participants by December 2026, at which point a majority of the study's planned enrolment will be complete. The study remains on track to complete enrolment by the end of 1H 2027. The data generated through DETECT is expected to inform clinical practice, payer engagement and the Company's broader US commercial strategy as Epiminder continues to expand access to continuous, real-world EEG monitoring for people living with drug-resistant epilepsy.
Dr Rohan Hoare, CEO of Epiminder, said, "Reaching 100 patients in DETECT ahead of the November target demonstrates strong momentum for Epiminder and is a clear reflection of the confidence US epileptologists have in the Minder System. Every patient enrolled brings us closer to the evidence needed to show how long-term, continuous EEG monitoring can change the way drug-resistant epilepsy is diagnosed and managed. I want to thank the patients and families who have chosen to take part in this study, and the investigators and site teams whose commitment has made this pace of enrolment possible."
Tracy Cameron, Vice President, Clinical Affairs at Epiminder, said, "Enrolling 100 patients in a randomised, blinded study of this kind is a significant achievement, and the steady progress we have seen from 50 to 75 to 100 participants speaks to the strength of our clinical site network. Our investigators are identifying exactly the patients DETECT was designed for, people who have been through prolonged EEG monitoring without a conclusive answer, and our sites have built strong experience with the Minder implant procedure and patient onboarding. With enrolment now nearing the halfway point, our focus is on maintaining that momentum while supporting every participant through their follow-up period."

About Minder®
Minder® is a minimally invasive implantable continuous EEG Monitoring (iCEM®) device that provides clinicians and patients with long-term, objective data on brain electrical activity. The system continuously records bilateral subscalp EEG and transmits data via an external wearable and smartphone application to a secure cloud platform. Patients wear the device during their normal daily activities, enabling real-world monitoring over months or years.
The Minder System was authorised by the FDA via the de novo pathway and is being used in DETECT as a marketed device in a post-market study. The UMPIRE first-in-human multicentre trial, published in Epilepsia (2025), demonstrated Minder's safety and high-quality signal acquisition across extended monitoring periods.
About Epiminder
Founded in 2017 by Professor Mark Cook together with the Bionics Institute, St Vincent's Hospital, the University of Melbourne and Cochlear Limited, Epiminder is a medical device and information solutions company focused on developing diagnostic and treatment tools for epilepsy and other seizure disorders where continuous monitoring is required. Epiminder is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia and has offices in the United States.
About DETECT
DETECT (Diagnosing Epilepsy To EffeCT change) is a prospective, randomised, controlled, blinded, multi-centre US clinical study evaluating the Minder System as a tool to improve clinical decision-making for patients with epilepsy following an inconclusive prolonged electroencephalographic (EEG) monitoring assessment. DETECT is designed to enrol up to 210 participants across up to 25 US sites, with a six-month primary follow-up period. The study is registered on ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07110337).
